Experience the comfort of homemade lasagna without the fuss! Try our delicious one-pot skillet lasagna that delivers all the warmth and cheesiness in just 30 minutes. Perfect for busy evenings, this recipe has been a kitchen staple for nearly a decade and is sure to become one of your reliable favorites too!

LASAGNA FOR LAZY NIGHTS

This incredibly easy skillet lasagna follows the same approach as my other one-pot pasta dishes. The lasagna noodles cook directly in the sauce, meaning you only need one pan, and every bit of flavor infuses into the pasta. I’ve streamlined this recipe to be as uncomplicated as can be, making it the quickest choice when time is of the essence.

SUGGESTIONS FOR SKILLET LASAGNA

I always enjoy pairing heartier dishes like lasagna with a fresh and uncomplicated side salad to add a burst of freshness to the meal. Of course, we can’t overlook the garlic bread – perfect for soaking up every remaining bit of that delicious sauce!

Step by Step recipe of Skillet Lasagna

  1. Start by cooking ½ lb. of Italian sausage in a deep skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Once it’s nicely browned, toss in two cloves of minced garlic and keep cooking for another minute.
  2. Pour in your favorite 24oz. jar of pasta sauce, add ½ teaspoon of Italian seasoning blend, and 1 cup of water. Give it a good stir.
  3. Now, break nine lasagna noodles (that’s about ½ lb.) into pieces about one to two inches long.
  4. Stir those broken lasagna noodles into the sauce in the skillet. Pop a lid on top, turn up the heat to medium-high, and let the sauce come to a lively boil. Once it’s bubbling away, give it a good stir, cover it up again, and then lower the heat to medium-low.
  5. Let the noodles gently simmer in the sauce, stirring every now and then, until they’re perfectly tender (which usually takes about 15 minutes). If the sauce thickens up before the noodles are done, just add a little more water and let them keep simmering.
  6. In a medium bowl, mix up 1 cup of ricotta cheese, ¼ cup of grated Parmesan, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of pepper. Stir until it’s all nicely combined.
  7. Spoon that ricotta mixture onto the skillet in little dollops. Then, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella on top.
  8. For that perfectly melty and slightly browned cheese, slide the skillet under your oven’s broiler for a few minutes (no lid, and make sure your skillet is oven-safe and keep a close eye!). Or, if you prefer, you can put a lid on the skillet and let it cook on medium-low for a few more minutes until the cheese has melted.
  9. Dish it up hot and serve with some tasty garlic bread for dipping! 🤤 (Feel free to add some parsley for a pop of colour, though it’s not necessary for flavour.)

Enjoy your fantastic skillet lasagna!
